Yeh, I'd have to make the idea work on a '2' from scratch, but I think the general styling idea will work, front bumper ,sides etc.. :D

You know my opinion, I think it's a great design to bring the MR2 right up to date. And the pic above shares a lot of the dimensions and lines of the MR2 , get it done mate

from the looks of it, it seems rather easy, only the frunk is difficult to do because water will get in the frunk through the scoops.

otherwise, go for it, keep it low and wide

Looks a bit like a Saleen from the side but i like it!

By the way Neo do you do custom side skirts at all? ive had an idea for Toms style skirts that would have more of a flush fit but havent got a clue how to make them myself (Not trying to hijack your thread btw!)

only problem would be that it will need to go in a wind tunnel.

Just like every other bodykit add on anyone chooses to fit ?

But it's a fair point.

From the basics of the design (it's based on an NSX concept designed by Honda) the air should flow freely out of the front bumper over the bonnet (as per the border style bonnet, the elise, f40 etc.), the large scoop on the side will force air into the engine bay, the area above the scoop contacting the decked area which blends to the boot lid, will aid downforce at the rear, vent in front of the front wheel arch will allow air from radiator to escape (as per ferrari 430) the vent behind the rear wheel arch will allow the venting of air from rear brakes and for pressurised air around the wheels as well. I imagine Dave would also add venting behind the front wheel arch to allow air normally caught in the wing pocket to escape therefore reducing front end lift at high speed. The added width will increase drag to a degree (as does the trd kit) but with air flowing to all the right places it would probably have a better co-efficient then a standard trd and would include all the functional points mentioned above . And is it's not even in the genuine design stage yet there's time to consider a rear under spoiler and splitters etc. and any other ideas that might require consideration .

If the excess material from the rear wings is removed as well then you may also be looking at a weight reduction, so overall this kit design could, in theory, improve the performance of the mr2 . How often is a kit designed for actual performance ? Maybe the TRD with it's wider track, but then it's drag would definitely be higher than standard .

And in all honesty, I'd have it even if it knocked a second off my 1/4 mile

I dont know why it reminds me of one cause it doesnt actually look anything like it but that has Ford GT90 written all over it.

Shall we call it the Ford GT90 (tribute)

And Tenacious D fans will get that.
