East London Meet/Run

Gallions Reach, Beckton E6

Organised through Pistonheads, this will include a chat, some grub and a run including a bit of tunnelling I expect. Some Roadster Owners Club members hopefully (other than me!) will be in attendance along with all the pasta rockets!!

A bright sunny day made for an excellent run down to Sevenoaks meeting up for a pub lunch with the Kent Pistonheads after an initial hour at Gallion’s Reach retail park in Beckton chatting and checking out assorted Ferrari’s, Maserati’s, Lotus’ a small block Cobra, a TVR etc…oh and an mr2 Roadster Turbo!
A blast through the Blackwall tunnel got everyone grinning, with the crack-crack-crack of the 1986 Lotus Esprit Turbo on overrun in front of me sounding like small arms fire. The Hass exhaust did not let the side down!
A great run in convoy down to Kent via plenty of twisty roads ended with a car park full of new shape Elises, two Exiges, three Cobras and a couple more Ferrari’s.
Grub and drinks, and the organising of future top secret midnight tunnel runs rounded off the day. A great bunch of guys, and considering some of the machinery there, nobody looked down their nose at the old ‘2’
Definitely worth doing, and I‘m looking forward to the next one. A few more Turbo 2’s (well you want to keep up don’t you?) next time would be cool.

Mmmmmmmmmmm tunnels, going through the Holmes dale tunnel (even with the 40mph restricition) is fantastic with the Nur spec

oh bu88er!!!!!!!!!!I cant believe I missed this one..... Not after the last London run of which I missed the start and ended up meeting up at Surrey Queys.
Just my luck, are there any more runs comming up soon, the old girl likes a run every now and then to blow out the cobwebs and so does my mr2 as well hehehe!
