possible boost/fuel problem?

Post by aj_mackay1 »

hi,

just fitted a rev3 tubby engine into my rev2 na. i think there is a possible boosting or fueling problem though as when i drive hard and get to around 4500 - 5000rpm the car stops pulling and its like hitting a rev limiter and is quite violent. any thoughts?

out of curosity though, does the bolt on the fuel filter need to be turned a certain way so that the hole is inline with the fuel pipe?

the car also idles at 1500rpm, is there any way to adjust this?

thanks guys

Hi - this limit you hit that's quite violent... Do you have a boost gauge fitted? It sounds to me like you're hitting fuel cut because of overboosting.

If you can it may be worth getting a boost gauge on and checking how much it's boosting. If you already have one of those and it's not overboosting then I'm sorry, I have no other ideas.

Not sure what the boost limit is on a Rev3 engine....

Iggy components - it could be a nasty misfire like i had :(

Check your timing - it may be retarded as the car is misbehaving

Check for error codes!

HTH
