I am thinking of trying to organise a MR2 weekend trip round the north of scotland

I stay in Huntly Aberdeenshire and would be looking to do a trip in September 2007.

Would anyone be interested.

Please let me know so that we can take this further.

It is an opportunity for those who have never been or just want to meet other MR 2 owners.

Here is details of the trip i did this year.

Let me know if interested

Hi Folks

Have now done a bit more work on arranging our Highland trip and as promised can provide a bit more detail.

The proposed trip is as follows.

Leave Huntly Aberdeenshire on Saturday 15th September 2007 at around 8-9am

Heading up through Dufftown, Aberlour to Aviemore, then we will head to Inverness and up to Ullapool for the Saturday night stop over.

I have spoken to the Royal Hotel in Ullapool who have about 10-12 rooms they can offer. http://www.royalhotel-ullapool.com

As you will see this provides off street parking which should keep the 2s safe.

The cost for accomodation with Scottish breakfast is around £35.00 per person.

Sunday 17 September 2007

Head off round the west coast of Scotland up to Tongue and then down through the hills back via the Cromarty Firth to Inverness.

For people that can stay another night then we could use the travel lodge at Inverness. http://www.travelodge.co.uk/

This again provides car parking and at present offer rooms at £26.00 (This is for room only but if 2 this is only £13 each).

There is a traditional restaurant next to the lodge where we can have tea and a few drinks or we can venture into the Highland capital Inverness.

On monday we can then go our own ways. For the people traveling south you can take the A9 from Inverness straight to Perth and on down south.

PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA PM OR ON EMAIL [email protected] SHOULD YOU WISH TO ATTEND AND I CAN CONFIRM HOW TO BOOK ACCOMODATION.

DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE HOTELS IN HIGHLANDS I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO LIMIT THE NUMBERS TO AROUND 10 - 12 CARS AS I CAN ONLY GET 10 ROOMS AT THE ONE HOTEL IN ULLAPOOL.

I have also attached details of a similar trip i did last year. http://www.mr2mk1club.com/WattsinScotland.html

If people require accomodation on the Friday as some may come quite a distance then i will help you with this.

Please note the trip is around 500 miles over the 2 days but this will be some of the best road for 2s and views will be great as long as we get the weather.

Provisional Bookings

Shane & Susan Watt - Mk1
Michael & Joanne Sheavills - Mk1
Mark Watt - Mk2

Let me have your details as soon as you can and we can get this arranged. This would be something to look forward to at the end of the summer season.
