Trackday / Meet - Cadwell Park, Lincs Saturday 18 November

Post by Icsunonove »

Well it looks like a few of us will be heading up to Cadwell on November 18th.

I don't know if I'm driving yet, but I'll definitely be going up to spectate, passenger (cheers Si :D) and socialise.

Anyone else interested in coming to this? It's free to spectate and free to passenger (assuming those MR2 drivers driving are ok with taking passengers)

If you haven't been to a trackday before and live reasonably close, why not come and find out what it's all about ? (WARNING: Trackdays are addictive! :D )

So far definitely booked:

Terry Keefe Derbys RED MR2 MK1 (120bhp)
JOHN WILLIAMS / MARK MIDDLETON ROTHERHAM RED TOYOTA MR2 TURBO (200bhp)
Si Cook Berden Blue Toyota MR2 Mk1 SC (Whiningbhp)

Provisionally booked (i.e not paid):

Garrick Abrahamson / Jo walker Northampton Mica Blue Toyota Supercharged MK1 MR2 (180bhp)
jason schuler canvey island RED MR2 Mk2 Challenge Car(172bhp)
Tim Cartledge / TBC East Grinstead Sherwood Toyota MR2 Mk1 Challenge Car (122bhp)
Tom Dyke / TBA Derby Blue Toyota MR2 Mk1b Supercharger (170bhp)
Martin Goldsack Blackpool Grey Toyota MR2 SC (196ishbhp)
Martin Tiffany Pontefract Red Toyota MR2 (168bhp)

Costs:

Spectate: FREE
Passenger : FREE
Second Driver: FREE
Third Driver: +£25 (I think - need to check that) EDIT: It's +£50 for third driver
Driver: £160

(PS If you haven't driven on a trackday before - I don't recommend Cadwell as a first one - it's a bit daunting!)

Just seeing how the finances go over the next couple of weeks before confirming ( and also have Oulton Park on the 3rd ). Think I may have found somewhere to stay on the Friday night so will avoid having to get up at silly am to get there in time to sign on.

I have put Jo and I down as "provisionaly booked" for track in the SC.

We really need to sell a house and any extra cash is being injected into sprucing it up for the sale. But we'll see what finances are like closer to the time.

\:D/ Excellent, you know it makes sense! 8)

I'll edit my first post then...

Mart, we normally stay at an excellent B&B near to the circuit. I'll dig out details if you want. I won't be B&Bing this time, I'll just have a very long day instead...

(Right, I'll go and pester Anna and Alex into submission as well  )

With whom Razza? And is it full circuit? (Not interested at all in doing the Mickey Mouse circuit)

Doesn't say whether it's full or club circuit though.
And yes, I know you have to pay extra for 2nd drivers or passengers, but it still works out cheaper???

I don't think Jo & I will be on track any more. Something has come up that will eat into any remote track day budget left for the year

We might still come up for the social side of things though 8)

There's a thought - I could bung the car on the trailer and sleep in the back of the Frontera :-k

We'll most likely be popping along to say hi (rude not to it being about 30 mins from us). If anyone is stuck for somewhere to stay Friday night, then you'd be welcome at our (very) humble abode.

Grrrhhh! I've just had to edit my first post. :( It's free for a second driver but it's now £50 for a third driver. Shame really, I've done quite a lot of trackdays with three drivers in my dads Elise and its been great, still plenty of time on track. Mind you the Elise is built for it, it might kill a Mk1s brakes, so it's probably not a good idea having three drivers anyway. (Oh well that's my plan b out of the window)

Eh? Why? G, Cadwell is brilliant to drive mate!

Tim, I need to contact my dad to get details, I've lost them. It really is a stunning place and not too expensive. But if the weather looks like its going to be ok, I may camp too as its a bit of a trek from my house.

Good to see you there Jon. How much floor space have you got?

(Oh I should just add. I would be happy to put preople up but:
1) It's still a fair trek from my house to Cadwell.
2) The landlord and his girlfriend are back that weekend. They'll be little or no space)

I quite fancy doing Cadwell, but I've a feeling I might break something lol
It's either Cadwell or Donington slightly later in the year for me, will see how the money goes I guess.

Cadwell is by far the better circuit in comparison to Donny. You can't get away with as much though.

Its always (well at least a year or two) been £50 for the third driver on open pit lane days. Its not an issue as such with sessions.

Come on Rowland, you know it makes sense, Cadwell is fantastic! :D

Not correct Lauren. It was originally FOC, then it was £25 and now it is £50. :( I understand the reason why, just saying that that is the history.
