Try a polish called Crystal Glow. Its an acrylic bike polish and it is absolutly increadable. Very high gloss, very easy to use, no hard scrubbing milarky!

Never used it on a car though, only my bike. Costs about a fiver for 235ml.

I use Zymol, bought one of their kits that cost around £150. The tub of polish used correctly lasts for ages. I am only about halfway through my tub of polish and I've had it for almost three years. Fantastic shine that lasts for ages.

A mate of mine bought the Zymol stuff a few years back for some ridiculous price, I thought he was crazy. He uses it religously and still has half the stuff left

I use Auto Glym. Their products are the business I reckon. The super resin polish put on before the high gloss wax leaves the car gleaming. I reckon the glass cleaner's pretty amazing too!

I did use Mer, but now I use Autoglym Resin Polish as it seems easier to wipe off now, maybe they have up-dated their polish. I might try a Supagard Polish I bought as a package with my other car. It seems like just any polish but it claims its like a second coat of lacquer which helps protect against all the elements on the road. Works wonders on my other car which is black too as it does seem to maintain an incredible shine and to touch it feels highly polished even after a couple of months. 8)

Its hard to find a decent polish for a black car. I was given Crystal-Glow from my neighbour who has a bike and he swears it excellent stuff. I tried it and thought it was pretty good but it didn't seem any different to the Autoglym. :?

I rate the McGuires 3 stage polish, its about £25 for all 3 bottles and its alot of hard work, but it didnt half give a good shine!!

It certainly does. Basically its cuts the paint.

Use a proper carnauba wax. I use DT concours (google for it). Its good, wihout being a total rip off cost wise like zymol.

they all work the same way a polish is an abrasive, depending on the paint to start with you will get what you put in. if its dull and scratched no matter how much it costs you will still have to put some effort in to get a finish.the waxes are only as good as the paint. if youve got a minter it will shine. an old dog will still be an old dog.£150 quid will not make the product 10 times better than the £15 one, just the seller 10 times richer.IMO any quality product will do the job, they are all basically the same.

Farecla G3.

A guy in the trade told me about it, they use it to tart up old bangers on the lot. Amazing stuff, works like a cutting compound, but doesn't actually cut the paint. Use any old coloured polish afterwards and the car will look great.
