Electric mirror adjustment failure

Post by Scouser »

Good evening gentlefolk.

MKII GT

My problem is the electric mirrors have stopped responding to the adjustment switch. I've looked for the fuse but cannot find it. can someone please tell me where the fuse for the mirror control is?

Many thanks

The fuse is down in the box by the drivers right leg (gotta get on ya knees and look under dash a bit. Just behind the Bonnet release). Think its on the Rad&Cig 15 Amp fuse. If thats ok, you could have a broken wire in the door loom. Thats what i had anyway. To save pullin another wire through, i just tapped into the +ve feed from the leccy window switch. Doddle. :P
Hope it helps.

Thanx for that Megatart. I found the fuse box and the lid depicted that the fuse was 7.5amp and shared with the heater located on the bottom right hand corner. I looked with a torch and there was no fuse at all and no connections for a fuse....spooky!

The heater is working fine so I thought best look at the mirror switch....how do you get the door switch console out without damaging trim and panel? I've already cracked the panel and I don't want to force anything. Is it front up slide back type of thing?

Thank you

Yeah just pry it from the front. If you do it from the back the plastic clip snaps. I learned the hard way. :(
It shud pop up and out ok from front tho.
