A huge thanks to the people @ Rogue Motorsport...

Post by Mikejc »

For those that don't know the people of Roque Motorsport are the official sponsors of my car. Some months back myself and the guys at Roque, Patrick, Matt and Toni, sat down and hatched a plan to build a monster MR2 ! We decided that we wanted to create a car that wasn't just a one trick pony, but instead could turn it's hand to all disciplines, 1/4 mile, track & fast road. The latter of which (track & fast road) being the focal point. Everything possible has been done to create a car that has bags of response along with a very healthy and usable 450+ BHP @ the wheels. The basic spec so far....

A Rogue Motorsport built 2.2 litre 5SGTE, based around a combination of different Toyota engines, the head coming from a revision 3 MR2 turbo. This engine has been under development at Rogue for some time, and once proven will be our flagship off-the-shelf offering. We're not releasing full detailed specs at this point, but this particular engine includes Garret GT28 Turbocharger, Rogue modified 5S block and crank, Carillo Rods, Rogue 2.2 forged pistons (made by Wossner to our design), Fidanza Flywheel, Custom high lift camshafts, uprated oversized valves, uprated valve springs and retainers, Rogue / Radtec Chargecooler, Jetex 834bhp air filter, Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust, Rogue Fan Kit, Motec M4 Ecu (mapped by Dave Rowe), Tein Flex Coilover Suspension, Tein EDFC, Carbotech Panther Plus Brake Pads.

The above is a work in progess, (what project isn't!? lol) but we expect it to be good for 11 second 1/4 miles once the bigger Garret GT3076 and custom manifold is fitted \:D/

So to close I would just like say how grateful I am to the peeps of Rogue Motorsport. The effort and skill that has gone into this project is simply outstanding. They have managed to build a car that put's a big smile on my face each and every time I run through the gears, not to mention the skids in my pants !!!  =D>

Best,

Mikejc

Thought you were going to be fitting a GT35 Mike. What's changed your mind?

Time! Mike's turbo is still sat on a shelf in the sub-assembly room at Rogue HQ. The fabrication company that we'd lined up to produce the manifolds for us decided that it was too complex a job for them after all, which set our schedule back by around a month. We only managed to get one manifold produced in time for TOTB, and that went on Toni Gladdings car.

Expect Mike's car to be fully equipped for it's next outing.
