I have the same problem! Got a N/A UK Rev3. When engaging full lock get this horrible kock / crack sound. Doesn't happen all the time tho.

Any ideas as to what it is would be great! its driving me mad

Don't forget MR2s don't have front CV joints (RWD), but yeah, clonking from fwd cars is usually wear from the CV joint.

So I'd say top mounts then, after you've checked everything's tight.

Im a total novice when it comes to mechanics, is it pretty easy to tighten up the mounts or should I take it somewhere?
