URGENT! Boot lock panel removal

Post by Leon. »

Hi guys,

Got a basic one for you........

I'm trying to sort out my rear lights and want access to behind the felt!! Looks like I need to remove the plastic trim that runs along the top, over the boot lock, but can't seem to figure out how to take it off.

Please HELP!!!

Cheers,

Leon

er, it's only held in place with press studs, so just pull up one side and gently prise it off...then behind the felt are a number of nuts to undo, then a few clips hold it in place so give it a tug (if I recall) it was a long time ago.....

to get behind the carpet, all you do is remove the plastic studs in the carpet then pull the carpet down. Theres no need to remove the panel above the boot lock

Another simple question, how do those studs work?? I've tried just pushing them in but doesn't seem to do a lot - am I just being feeble??

take a screw driver, push the center and it will move in. then just pull the stud out as one....

When you replace them pull the studs apart, put the outer part in the hole first then push the center into that ;)

You only need to push the centre in about 2 or 3 mm until you feel some resistance. Push anymore and the centre pin will fall out and/or you may daage the clip.

Thanks, yeh I managed to figure it out in the end! I just don't like forcing things when I'm not sure how they fix...........

The rewiring is going ok, but after about 5pm the solder wouldn't bl00dy flow cos it got too cold!! Done most of it though, I'll finish it tomorrow and put a massive tip on the soldering iron
