Hello, I'm new as well...

Post by MattTodd »

Hi all,

I'm new as well, I've been a frequent visitor to the site for about 6 months, from TOC UK, always fancied an MR2, but never managed to actually buy one yet! First off, you've all got some really nice cars on here, I'm really liking Hicks' white GTS, very clean, and not too over the top, lovely car mate, looks good in white too.

Thought I might post some pictures of my car while I'm here, something a bit different for you all to have a look at, it's not an MR2, so I don't expect everyone to love it don't worry lol, and I hope no-one minds.

Bit different to an MR2, but I like all kinds of cars, and this isn't too slow off the mark. Still love the shape of the MkII MR2's though, I'd love a black T-Bar at some point.

Daimler :P even more chrome and added weight lol.

I don't do many miles, so it's not too bad, a full tank is about £60-£65 and I get 270-290 miles off a full tank, so it's probably not that much worse than a tubby. The insane thing is that I can get insured on it. I turned 20 at the end of may, and I've had this since February. I can get insured on a 4 litre v8, even if it does cost a fortune, but I can't get anyone, and I mean anyone, to insure me on an 2.0 litre MR2 turbo. Last time I went car shopping the only MR2 I found that I liked was an N/A import, and because it was an import, the cheapest quote I had was £3,500 for 12 months fully comp. Grrrr.

I like it!!!!!

You can tell its a daimler Anna from the fluted grille and boot trim, am I right in thinking its a long wheel base too? Very pimp!!!!

You tried getting an MR2 as a second car and insuring it on a limited mileage? There are a few young uns on here surely someone can point you in the right direction???

Ello!

Thanks for the replies, skinthespin knows his cars ;-) Not many people I've met recognise the fluted grill. Yea mate, it's a long wheelbase, v nice. I'll try and post some interior piccies later. It's busy being ill at the moment, but intermittently  so that's where my extra cash is going :(

I really fancy an MR2 as a project car, theres just something I love about them, I can't really get away with it as an only car as I live out the back of beyond and I've often got more than one other person in the car with me. I could always perch them on the rear spoiler I guess

Anyways, thanks for the warm welcome guys!
