MR2 Back from bodyshop.

Post by craig »

As you may or may not know, my car was damaged in shipping requiring a new door and 2 new wings.

The car was also sprayed in a custom colour with a metal fleck that meant painting a door and 2 wings without knowing exactly what is in the paint would make it look like a patchwork quilt

So, it needed a full respray to make it mint. I figured rather than go for red again, I would get it sprayed black as I think black MR2s look sweet.

I also went for the rev 3 JDM lights and panel as I already have a rev 3 spoiler, so thought I would complete the look. 8)

Just got it back today and went for a drive and some pics. What do you think?

Cheers!

HAR HAR HAR!

Was a joke. Looks quality mate.

Really looks nice. Seems they did a top job. Only need a sunny day to get better pictures man. It must gleam.

There is a resprayed black tubby around here somewhere.Whenever it's sunny and I see it, it just gleams like a gleamy thing.

SWEET AS! Really impressed.

It's about time  Looking very nice though =D>

One thing to consider i recon is the wheels - The red bits inbetween the spokes look a bit out of place now so go over it with black :)

Looks great, far better colour choice in my opinion!

Quite surprised by your choice of rear spoiler, I thought you'd have gone for something other than a stock rev3 spoiler IFSWIM - good choice though and certainly the one I'd have opted for. Or possibly a rev5 thinking about it!
Dare I ask if it was an expensive job?

:?

How far did they go with the respray?
Inner doors, engine bay, frunk etc?
By the way, Is that Departure II Pro you have currently fitted?

Remove the amber toblerones and that's one VERY admirable car you have there matey...

=D>

Ps: Will this now instigate a change of User ID?

Does this mean we can't call you Pinky anymore? :(

;)

Looks good, though.. Not that much of a fan of black cars myself (because they're a sod to keep clean!), but when they're all shiny (and it's someone elses job to keep it that way ;)) they don't half look nice :)

Now, like Dan says, some nice Rev1/2 rear lights.......

Cheers Rowland! I like the rev 3 spoiler as it is subtle, if I went rev 5 it would have to be genuine and I don't fancy paying £350+ for a second hand genuine spoiler.

It was mates rates so it wouldn't be comparable

Only things left red is under front bonnet and under engine bay....

The exhaust is a D2 Regular, shortly to be replaced by a Nur Spec 8)

I must be one of the minority that likes toblerones, I think they break up the black nicely :D

Cheers!

Looks much better mate.

I think the red on the wheels still looks just as good as it did before so don't you dare touch them. and the number plate looks better now too.

The only things i would personally change are........

Tint the toblerones black, orange side repeaters with clear sidelights just looks wrong.

And tint the rear indicators red to blend them in with the rest of the cluster.

Apart from that,

MINT. 8)
