it's a gt-s if it's cloth, half leather was an option on a gt-s, standard on a gt ;)

the guy says he's done many motorway miles - the best a car can do - so no I don't think its really an issue - more of a bonus as the price has to be lowered!!

As Ben says, also depends on whether it has FSH etc........

Sold, to me for 4k as a private sale.

Viewed it on Friday, but left empty handed when he wanted to hold out for 4.5k when I was offering 4.2k. However, he called me back on Saturday after he'd seen another car he wanted and now needed a quick sale. I shamelessly took the oportunity to reduce my original offer and the car was mine.

Apart from the damage to the rear bumper (£200 respray), a hole where the lighter should be and a poor job being made of spraying the dash silver the car is in excellent condition. It boosts well, runs extremely smoothly and it seems to have been very well cared for.

I was planning on holding out for a GT with leather in the same colour, but got tired of waiting for a good one to come up. I'll be looking out for leather seats and door cards in the near future.

My only concern is the excessive wheel tracking I have experienced so far. I expected some from the 17inch, 40mm profile tyres but not the wheel wrenching I've had. This may not have been helped by the tyre pressures being approx 25PSI. I've pumped them up 35 allround and will see how I fare, although any opinions would be helpful.

Nice one, sounds like a godden........ yeh, get a 4-wheel laser alignment done. Will cost between £50-£100 depending on how much tweeking is needed, and where you go!! You should at least get a basic 4-wheel laser alignment done at a local tyre garage etc, for £25-30 ish.

Now i've had the chance to drive my new tubby a little, I have a query regarding the boost pressure. Boost has never exceeded much more than 0.5 bar on the blitz boost guage installed, although it does stay constant.

I have read that in standard form a rev3 should produce approx 1 bar of boost. From searching the forums I understand that a t-vsv restricts boost untill engine/oil temps have reached a certain level.

Obviously it's cold at the moment but how long does it normally take to reach the required temp? Would 15mins of motorway driving normally be enough?

15 minutes of motorway driving should be ample matey.
Does the temperature gauge not read halfway after this then?
On a stock rev3 you should be getting around 13-14 psi or around 0.9 bar.

Now i've had more time to drive it, i've discovered the problem; that i just wasn't trying hard enough and/or was to concerned about watching the road not the dial.

It boosts strongly up to 1bar and holds it, woohoo.

Overall the car is in tip-top condition and although i did really want a GT i've discovered that it does have climate control, ABS and an LSD. So all I really need are the half leather seats and an active sub to get it more or less up to GT spec.
