Theres a Spyder for sale on the NVI website. How rare are they? Do they have a convertible roof? You can't tell a lot from the pics on the site. Is it a standard spec or has it been modified? Don't (as you can no doubt tell) know anything about these.

yes they are quite rare indeed... only a handfull in the UK I beleive (single figures for sure) possibly less than 5.

yes they are full convertable but to be honest i wouldn;t like to get caught out in the rain in them.. the soft top looks like a tent stuck on top lol.. definately a car for dry sunny weather...

looks a bit pants with teh "tent" up

is the Spyder NVI have a Turbo or an NA ?... one is southend is an NA.. not too sure they even made Turbo's in Spyder form.. someone will no-doubt clarify :-k

NVI do own a turbo spyder converted by TRD!! But he will never sell it apparently. :D

He has imported an NA though which is for sale, and can be sold with a turbo conversion apparently....or a beams engine!! He's offered both.

Agree there are probably 'about 5' in the UK. There was one for sale on here last year with a rev2 turbo conversion. If you search you'll probably find it.

Yes...the NVI Car can be supplied with or without turbo or beams engine and can be auto or manual...currently an autobox. I think most convertibles look a bit pants with the roof up to be honest...and we definitely don't live in the right climate. Absolutely stunning looking car with the roof down though...reminds me even more of a little baby Ferrari. Incidentally I want to buy a late Rev3 or preferably a Rev4 later this year and NVI seem to have the type of thing I want...would anyone recommend them as a dealer? New Era seem OK too..and currently have Rev4's on their site as well. Won't be for a couple of months though...only just got the Rev2.

MR2 syder

Post by adam maclean »

Theres one in Swansea area (Was last summer). Banzai did a feature on it. Thats had a Turbo conversion, all the others are N/A and a Rouge systems body kit. Am I right in thinking they were all automatics as well. Im sure this guy had his converted to manual. Hes got a few MR2s and pretty sure hes a member.

No the one in Banzai is definatly a Turbo Manual. Says the owner is a Paul Bowes and theres only 2 of these in the country. But by the sounds of it theres more. :-k. Would be strange to have two of them in Swansea.

This is the one in Banzai.
