Help - Paintwork is in dire state!!

Ive just took the covers off my MR2 and gave it a good wash - but the paintwork is in a terrible state.

Its covered in micro-scratches which I can easily remove with a bit of Safe-Cut and a good wax - but my real problem is that below the scratches within the paintwork there is a light grey discolouration - I would almost say it looks like watermarks, but there not!

I have tried for a few hours today using various colour restore products etc. but the marks are still there.

Also there are some pinhead size bubbles along the drivers side top edge -

Any advice?

If thats it after a wash/wax etc then it looks like you need a respray

Instead of listening to all these downers mate, take it to a bodyshop and ask their opinion.

they will know best.

when its done-even though its quite alot of cash-you WILL SOO love the finished result, every respray is worth it 100%. trust me on this!

Don't worry too much about it mate. The paint has gone porous and died a good bit. A slight flat and polish (with a buffer) should sort that out so it looks presentable again. However as stated, a respray is always nice =D>

I notice from your profile you have had a full respray - is there anything you can tell or I should need to know before taking the plunge?

plus what sort of prep work do i need to do before and after will I be needing any spare parts to complete the job - like trim etc thats been removed and wont go back on.

Sorry to sound like such a noob but never had to go down the re-spray route before and I find it a little disconcerting.

I think a good mop by a proffessional body shop should do the trick. Remember waxing a car will not bring out swirls/scratches etc, only polishing it will.
If they use a good polish and take off the top, i imagine it will look fine.

Mine has started to do that in places, i'm hoping i can mop it out with a good cutting compound.

Get a decent rotary mopping machine and some farecla G3. Then if you want to be the ultimate perfectionist you can finish it off with some 3M finesse it.
