Idle RPM

Post by Tickover »

Im just wondering what the RPM should be @ idle on a 92 MKII Rev2 3SGE. I have just splaped in some new plugs (BKR6EYA) and its idleing @ 1000rpm.. Just seames a little high to me, but she runs smother thane before?

Also I knoticed on the cambelt cover two stickers one said 3SGE and under that a Yellow sticker saying REV 3???? does this mean I have a rev 3 engine/Cambelt cover????

tickover shud be around 800-1000. yours is fine. i changed mine to 1000 as it makes the air filter that little bit louder at idle.

the idle speed also depends on wether you have heaters on or other electrical loads on at the time....idle up vsv's raise the rpm to compensate,so switch everything electrical off to get your real idle speed.
