Should I EVER sell my rev5 turbo?

Post by matt5cott »

Now and again I flirt with the idea of selling my rev5 turbo, admitedly not for a while, but every so often its tempting :-k

Does anyone know if these will be possible to import ever again? Im guessing its not likely? ie if I sell it its good bye mr chips.

It's still completely standard from the day I got it from neweraimports, never missed a beat, its the only thing I drive and its coming up to its 3rd year in my possession this June :)

I don't even know why im tempted to sell sometimes, I guess its just one of those things!

Not unless there is a model report produced for these things sometime in the future, which im guessing is gona be a big fat NO.

Keep hold of it if you like it, otherwise move onto something different.

Under the ten year rule, it will be possible to import revision 5 cars from October next year.

Hmm, the question is will they still command a premium I suppose :compress:

Sell it if you fancy a change, like Rogue said next year you can buy one easily enough if you really miss it. They'll stop commanding a premium soon rev1 & 2 cars were always less than rev3 on but now each year more & more rev3 plus cars are coming in they are all dropping in price.

p.s. been abusing my mazda all weekend, handlings in another league to the SW20 and its only a little budget roadster, bet an RX7 would be a great upgrade from a 2 if you were to sell.

As far as I know the rule still stands that no car newer than 1st of Jan 1997 can be ESVA'd without a model report being available and as Juicin has pointed out there is not one available for an mr turbo :(

My understanding is that the ten year rule takes precedence... I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

To my understanding the ten year rule is only valid for the SVA and not the ESVA. As far as I know a model report will still be required as its later than 1st Jan 1997, even if the car is over 10 years old.

Never thought there were any other Beige Mica cars about in this country (hadn't seen any atleast). I see from your profile its not your prefered colour, but personnally I think its quite stunning in some light.......... (looks xxxx in the rain though)

http://community.webshots.com/album/547106612VyBXfx

I didnt think there were that many rev5 cars produced overall as Toyota seemed to petter them out in the final years, so it will still be a pretty rare car even if they can be imported in the future......

Dont part with it, its the best rev you can get (IMHO, not having driven other revs) :D

I wouldn't sell a rev5 turbo in beige mica for love nor money if i had one. Has to be the rarest colour going. Keep it is what i say (unless you want to donate it to me of course :P ).
