Pages not loading fully

Post by MegatronUK »

Guys, I'm seeing problems with IMOC from several different sites, both at home on 2mbit adsl and from various places at work - with IE, Firefox and Opera... sometimes the pages do not fully load, stopping halfway through loading the html for the tables, or halfway through the html for the links below the banner.

Loading speed is still pretty quick, but instead of timing out and taking forever to fully load, it just stops, as if the connection at the server end has been closed unexpectedly. If it was one of my servers I'd be looking at the php.ini settings....

I saw this a couple of weeks ago, but it stopped by itself and has been fine since. I don't remember doing anything in particular to sort it out. :-k

i'm still getting the same old page not available on occasion, especially this morning
lets not forget though that they are in the process of swapping servers, hopefully the probs will iron themselves out soon

Hmm, I haven't seen anything like this. Lauren reported a problem yesterday which turned out to be a problem with NTHell. Will keep an eye on it.

Folks,

Can you post details of the ISPs and web browser you're using please ?

Eg : BT Yahoo Broadband , Firefox 1.5 etc.

Yep, the first phase of the move completed about a week ago - the backend database is now on the new box, and after some inital tweaks is currently working well.

There's a second phase that will be happening in the next week or so - but that should be 100% seamless and no one should even notice the move.

Final post :)

We're still using the Fasthosts Webservers to actually serve the pages out. Its possible that one (or more) of the group of load banced webservers isn't configured right and is causing these errors.

We should see them dissapear when we complete the move to our own box shortly.

I was seeing the problem at work, using Firefox 1.5 and (I think) an NTL connection. It hasn't happened so far today, on my Pipex ADSL connection at home.

I had this same problem too on my PC at work but it was fine on all others i tried. I just got myself a new PC from the store and built in with a fresh install of Windows. No problems now. I did try reseting my browser settings and some other stuff but thought it was a software problem with my PC.
