Essex RR day Results

Post by Matty_GTS »

After a great day out (thatnks for organising Frank!) i thought it would be interesting to hear people's results and there excuses for short comings :D

I'll start;

322 (252) Bhp @ 6797 Rpm (Previously 272 (202) @ 6892)
268 FtLb @ 4742 Rpm (Previously 217 @ 6171)

Previous results at 8psi, Todays at 16psi.

Now my excuse ... as you all know my car was leaking boost and sounded like a jet :D aswell as a cracked downpipe.

Really happy with the figures and when i have fixed the problems and had it mapped i'll look forward to the next RR day!

Had a good day apart from being pulled by the traffic xxxx and given a fixed penalty for excessive noise. They were the rudist willys ive ever come across! My results were -

306bhp (fly) @ 5994rpm with 289.4lbft torque @ 3972rpm. Down a little on bhp however im up on torque. Only changes made from last time was some octane booster and a blitz panel filter but i turned my boost down to a little under 16psi. Had a missfire issue due to a heavily corroded dizzy cap but im still happy with the result. Torque curve was nice and flat holding nicely from 3500rpm to 6500rpm.

my results wer ...

310.3 BHP (246 bhp) @ 6981rpm &
246 lbft @ 6259rpm

was not too happy with the result, as i no the car has been lacking power recently, after i decided to fiddle with bits in the engine bay!!! :@ needs to be mapped for the higher boost..

ran 1.15 bar on the 1st run, which gave highest BHP output, 1.3bar on the 2nd run and Lost 4bhp! i used to be able to get 1.65 bar!!!!!! ArrrrG! to the map shop i will be go!! lol

Btw, about the exaust, if they havnt used proper sound testing equipment, then you dont owe them anything! im pritty sure that they would have to test the DB reading, and get you to sign out a print out, just like on a breathilizer test. If you went to court, and the judge asked for evidence, and the police man said 'i think its too loud' then the copper will prob get done for wasting time! -Ask Hurstie1981 he will prob no the answer :P

I'm amazed my car lasted through the runs given some of the noises it was making. Quite chuffed with my 230bhp (302@fly) and 259 lbft :)

>>dyno sheet<<

Quite nice smooth curves :)

nice figures Guys but looks like their flywheel estimates are a bit off - The informed peeps seem to recommend an 18% loss, so the trick is to just post wheel figures ;) :D

It looks like everyone lost about 70bhp through transmission losses, everyone shouldve been within a couple bhp on the loss front I guess!

Just moving this one to events ..

Rory - Couldn't believe you'd been pulled this morning. I'd fight that, it sounds well out of order. Take the car to Kwik Fit and get them to give you something saying the exhaust is in good order and has no faults - and then query the fine for the fault and specifically ask for the details of which regulation its breaking. There's no measureable specific limit specified in the MOT.

Apart from that, cheers Frank for another good Rolling Road day. :thumleft:

I should have everyone's runs on video, but I've got a load of footage to edit up first from the IMOC Trackday last weekend at Anglesey. I should have the rolling road stuff done towards the end of this week / early next week.

As for the power figures - Engine Advantages transmission losses are certianly more 'generous' than elsewhere.

My of the two power runs they did for the Roadster, they came out at 216.6 and 198.5 ft/lbs of torque on the first run, and 217.8 and 196ft/lbs of torque on the second - the chargecooler would have been a little warmer on the second run explaining the lower torque figure. I felt the charge cooler after the second run, and it was still cool, only just warm to the touch. The pipework between the turbo and the CC was hot by comparison - so it looks like it is doing its job well.

I've now done 15k miles since the turbo conversion, and about 5 days on track - its good to know that the engine is still running spot on :)

did anyone run a stock ct26???
i bought along my mate stewyH (newish mr2 turbo owner)....he had the grey rev2....
altho peak hp at 6200 and peak torque at like 5800 (unusual for a ct26)...214atw i think. blitz ecu.....maybe a small spec hybrid, never seen ct26 peak over 6k and torque anywhere near 5800...

nice to see a few of the imoc/mr2oc cars there....good convoy from thurrock.

on average most peeps were 220-250whp i think...
