HELL YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! \:D/

For those of you who were unable to make it, the title of the thread is absolutely NOT an overstatement. It was actually funny adn quite unbelievable tot he point that nearly the whole car park was MR2s. just when you thought there were quite a few parked up, another group of ten would arrive, then another five, then another 10. Incredible and you had to rub your eyes to believe the sight wasnt you imagination.

Quote of the day?

"F*cks sake, i thought this was a jap meet, it all bloody MR2s!"
(FD RX7 owner)

I felt proud today to be a 2 owner and I think owners of teh other odd marque was slightly embarraseed by the sight of it all. If there was ever an indication of the MR2 gaining mjore presence in the jap tuning community then this evet alone wouldve proved were defintely here, IS THAT CLEAR!!!!! haha

Weather, despite worries was good too, cold but dry and sunny, just what the turbo ordered.. Great to meet a few more IMOCcer, adn some older ones, albeit with new 2s.

only casualty was 'kinda' me. seems by rocker cover gasket has begun to leak, nothing like pullingup to a meet with smoke coming from the engine bay! Woohoo, hardcore!

Lets all here it for the 2!!!!!!!!!

Bobby

ps. Would like to comment on MR2Babe but her boyfriend knows what i look like so better keep my mouth shut!!!

My journey home was 'eventful'. Sitting in line at a roundabout and someone shunted me from the rear cracking my genuine Autopista bumper. NOT happy. Will post pics up tomorrow of the damage. Culprit was a green Renault Laguna that smashed into a 4x4 Kia which in turn shunted in the back of me. Some of you may of see the Renault parked up on the side of the road on the way back to the M25....
Hopefully my bumper is repairable. Insurance will pay for it.

On top of that my overheating problem seems to be returning, heater blowing hot and cold AGAIN! Loosk like it has to be my head gasket... :(

Other than that, what a great meet at Boxhill. Good to meet most of you in person, i can now put faces to the names!

Oh that dam avaaaaaaataaaaaarr (in Homer style voice) =D>

Good seeing ya mate. I guess, yes, you do take the prize then for casualty of teh meet unless someone can better this:

Bobby, Leaking rocker gasket. Smoking.
Scoott, Smashed rear bumper. Overheating (headgasket?)get a bonus point for being a fire risk!?

Surely I :-k

Seriously though, sorry to hear that mate. make sure you deffo take it throught the insurance though the buggers. Some dick in a Pulsar GTIR backed onto the front of my car hence the cracked paint on it, so I just took some money for the spray, later turns out the bumper itself is cracked and will need a new one. ar$e! Thanks to another IMOCcer though, possible got this sorteed soon.

I can vouch for the crowdedness...turned up around midday and had to park up the road...hence not making it into any of the pics. :(

Good to see such a strong turnout and some familiar faces, shame about the few d1cks in the 'other' cars that felt they had to blast through an EXTREMELY crowded and tight car park - not too sensible =; [-( :-$

It was definately more of a Toyota meet than anything else. The Celicas pulled in a good crowd in the overflow and there were a number of Supras. Other than that, the only real numbers were the MX5's.

Wicked show! soooo many MR2's ! didnt even get time to look at the supras etc, too buisy lookin at the 2's !! cool convoy up the m25 from croydon too! :P -Vid was kool BTW, i was hoping to see my car in it, and was well chuffed to see it being the 1st one on the clip! hehe! :P Sorry to everyone for not cleaning it before i came!

-Oh, my return home was quite eventfull too (ish) i got to clacket lane services with the Empty light starting to come on, on the fuel gague.. then find out the only fuel clacket has is dam 95 ron or diesel!! Arrrrg! so nursed it back to west kingstown to a total garage,, now with the empty light bright as anything! to find they not got more than 95 ron aswell ARRRG! then 5 miles later down the road in mepham i stumbled across a Esso with super unleaded just by chance, put in enough to get to tesco in gillingham (15 mile away) and get some 99 ron and then to halfords for some octane boost!!

DAM shitty UK fuel!! what is the RON for super unleaded? is it ok for tubbys? -and say i had clonkled out at clacket, could i have used 95 ron, to get home??

It's the Trial rear, I've recently bought the Trial demo Supra, it's being deregistered and packaged up in Japan as we speak :) That's got the full Trial kit, and you're right, it goes really well with the lines of the Supra.

I was at Boxhill too, mine was the lairy green MR2, but I left early. Had a shocker of a cold this week, and being at Boxhill did me no good ! Feel rough as bumholes today :(

Was a bloomin good turn out for the MR2s tho :)

Have yourself a read of the fuel test in Banzie magazine. You see that Optimax came out way on top, followed by Super then the tesco's 99 cheap cheap stuff! ;)

Ryan mate,

you'd have been fine in an emrgency like that to put 95ron in,just don't boot it at all. As long as you cruise gently there'll be no dett. Drive like you did (all of us?) on the M25 and your engines not gonna feel good especially in your case mate. Until a remap, that ecu of yours will be mapped for 100ron fuel.

While I'm here, please forgive me but with being hit with so many names I've forgotten who you are. Who were the MR2 Tubby owners I had breakfast with that morning in the café?
