ariel up and down??

my mk1 elec ariel motor must be working as i hear it when stereo is turned on/off any ideas why it wont actually move up and go down tho??

THE POLE AND CABLE MIGHT BE BROKEN REPLACMENT COST £40 FROM MR T. 10 MINS JOB TO RE FIT.
