Problems with Clifford 650

Hi,

Really pi55ed off only got my Clifford 650 alarm fitted YESTERDAY and am already coming across problems.

For some reason after I have finished driving I park the car up and arm the car then a couple of seconds later it blips the alarm 3 times and the does the proximity beep (you know the warning off noise). I had to have the car un armed last night but with the doors locked yesterday.

To add insult to injury I paid the guy 20 quid on the side to fit the HKS Turbo Timer aswell and thats f**ing up aswell. After I get out the car turn the ignition off the car still runs. Set it at 3mins. SOmetimes when it gets down to around 30 secs left it sounds like the STARTER MOTOR IS TRYING TO START THE CAR!!! I really think this guy has wired in the timer wrong somehow. I know absolutly nothing about car electrics.

Help please anyone in the mean time. Also with my alarm should it be able to shut the windows automaticaly aswell. if it matters I have a 94 Rev3 T-Bar Turbo.

So what you are really saying is there is nothing wrong with your alarm, it's the fitter.
Surely if it was only fitted yesterday you should get the fitter back to correct/adjust anything that's wrong.

I've had Clifford alarms in my last 2 MR2's and never had a problem. My Clifford 500 works perfectly well as my turbo timer and always winds the windows up if I forget to close them.
Surely the 650 has a channel that can be set as a turbo timer. I didn't think alarm systems work with a separate timer.

You can get responses to your questions but the only way to resolve them, in my opinion, is get the shi....fitter back to do the job properly. Most alarm issues are because of poor fitting not poor alarms.

I agree its most likely going to be down to the fitting. if you split with your hard earned then get him back to sort it out. This is the problem with getting things done on the side, its a bit hard to have any comeback.

Are you still able to get your insurance discount? Is he a qualified and registered fitter of clifford alarms? If not you may have wasted your money a bit. I know the main thing is security but surely cheaper insurance is the second priority.

Hi mate, first of all your proximity sensor is set too high this is easy to adjust...

Disarm the system
Using the 5 putton remote press clifford button 3 times
Press star
The system will chirp once

First of all you can set the length of time before the alarm will go off when stood too close to the car
To increase time press boot release
To decrease time press star

Now you want to adjust the distance of the warm away zone from the car
Press the twin star button
To increase distance press boot release
To decrease distance press star

Now press the arm button twice and test your adjusted system. It will take you a few adjustments to get it just right!


Secondly the system will close the windows but you will need the smartwindows2 module which will cost in the region of £100 supplied and fitted
