suspension?

Post by will777 »

my front right shock has had it so figured it would be a good time to replace all, dont have a grand or so spare for coil overs so wandered if anyone can advise of any places selling good alternatives, i am wanting to lower a bit but not bothered about them been adjustable but also wanting to keep the ride decent as its my everyday driver!

any help appreciated!

Lots of this about to search for, but your struts should be rebuidable, so when you strip the old ones down you can slip in a new shock absorber.

KYB do non-adjustable ones, as do bilstein, koni do adjustable ones and are good. Springs to lower it are easy, whole thing should be under £500 or so?

I am a Mk1 bod, so I am sure the others will point you better...

FYI, if doing the job at home USE AXLE STANDS, be careful of anti-roll bar pingig at you when you remove it, and if the nuts/bolts don't come apart relatively easily, get SOMEONE ELSE to do it!!!

Koni SSK. Adjustable inserts and 20% uprated, 25mm lowered springs.

Around £400 and perfect for everyday ride.

Give Dan a call at DC Dezign.

Given your criteria you could always get new OEM '93+ shocks and springs. The shocks are Bilstein and they're way underrated. That combo will lower the car more than your '92 and stiffen the ride a bit but it'll still be comfy-womfy for a daily.
