I have two head units, I have tried wiring one to amp and the other one through that one but the sound quality it terrible I was wondering if wiring it like below will work? (I have drawn a diagram to save trying to explain)

looking at your idea i would guess that you would be able to do that as long as you only have power to the head units one at a time as there may be a chance of a signal backing up the second rca cables potentialy being damaging to the second head unit if it is on, but that is only a guess, never seen it done before, only with seperate amp to each head unit, hope this is of some help, jim
