Manifesto (Me luv you long time, vote me, luv you)

Post by axisofunity »

Election manifesto:

Me:

21 Year old Accountant (EEP!) with a passion for my MR2 that causes anguish to my parents, arguments with my girlfriend and much swearing when the damn thing does something wrong. (I still spend money on it though!)

I live in London and I try to attend the car meets that happen around here such as Bluewater and the recent Rolling Road trip, I’ve been to JAE where although I had a little problem with names, I had a great time and I also enjoyed watching my girlfriend become a tent builder on people’s shoulders. (Don’t worry, I got punishment later, I had to build our tent and take it down… managing to lose my watch in the process).

My car is an N/A, but she’s coming along, Carbon Fibre here and there ( ) and some nice DVD system and ICE. I will never be able to compete with most people on here for power… (Well, turbo lump will come…) but I do love the car and feel that the MK1, MK2 Turbo are very represented on here, so lets give the humble N/A a chance! By the way, big respect to Goldy running on the 3S-FE, but that’s not really an MR2 is it, so don’t vote for him! (Just kidding, he’s great ((It's underpowered))!)

Anyway… I love asian films (totally not MR2 related – but hey!) and have had experience of admin running a few things in my life, (www.asianfilmarchive.com –Currently on hold due to not being allowed to run a business while an accountant) (Game clans for CS and a long time ago TFC). I like some computer games, but mostly I spend time browsing on the IMOC site, a couple of news sites and doing my exam training.

I have internet access from work and can check on sometimes, but that is a disadvantage, really I’d be a morning and evening admin, so if you want someone here 24 7, you’ve got to persuade the mods to let BloodUK stand, DAMN MAN, how’d you get 5k posts, but been here less time than me!

So, please consider me as a candidate, I’m relaxed, semi-cool (uhh…) and love the MR2, possibly beyond my means (A sign like many of you of a true collector). I’ve thought about selling, but in the end always come back it…. Carbon Fibre Bonnets, Tein HA’s, Border kits, you name it, I’ll get it.. (Disclaimer: At some point!). As an accountant, I’m pretty organized and well, please, I’d love a chance to do something like this!

As an incentive to vote for me (and as a reward for reading this long post…) just tell me your asian fanta…. OH WAIT! No, I can’t do that anymore if I'm to stand for this position. Ahem. So, in short. I stand for the 3SGE and excitement (As much as possible with only 170bhp )

Yours truly,

Axisofunity aka Paul Rosen

Heh, you deserve it more than me, I just wanted to get in on the shameless hustle.

At least it shows I'm interested ;-)

By the way, do you want some carbon?

Aye bribes ;-) They make the world go round.

Anyway, once you get the supercharger, wow. That will be pretty amazing, although I suspect the smoother power will still be far less than a turbo, but at least you'll leave me in the dust :(

Anyone can promote themselves, though be advised that it should be in teh election forum and not anywhere else.

There is nothing wrong in writing 'a vote for me type' topic, as afterall its always better if people have a good reason to vote for you.

I should add that teh position of moderator is fairly restricted, ie you can't promise the world like say the position of an events admin... but again no harm in introducing yourself to a wider audience.

I would advise though that when self-promoting that you do not mention other candidates in either a good or bad light as it never pays off.

You're going to only gain 20?

Hmmm, drop in a Turbo instead :P Or a NORMAL N/A ;-)

Or just a leaf blower ;-)

We have been chatting about making 'Formal Warnings' time expire on Admin list, so then letting people get involved like this after a period.

I'd like to focus on the current moderator elections here though for the moment - we can come back to time-expiring 'Formal Warnings' afterwards.

If you've got a view though either way, you're welcome to PM me ..
