I know these are rare over in the UK. I was just going through Goo-Net which is Japan's equivilent of Auto trader and I found 4 for sale!

Shame they are private sales and can't be exported

You should be able to locate them here.

Do you know of any dealers that work online, who could offer this type of service?

Still not showing.

I'm guessing any importer could. I know a few of our affiliates would - i.e. Julian at http://www.mr2-direct-imports.co.uk/ or Bob Agar.

i wouldnt go via any importer in the uk as they will kick you in the nutts for about 2k.

speak to jurgen who helped me import my rev3 in from japan and he can hook you up with his people out there. he's used a lot by the people on the supra board and is very trustworthy.

With the roof down theres no denying that the spiders a nice motor but surely i cant be the only guy in the country that thinks they they look ridiculous with the roof up! youd only get a few weeks a year of roof down motoring - id be a bit embarrassed the rest of the time incase anybody asked me if id made it myself!

Sorry if ive annoyed anybody in speaking my mind
What do they actually handle like just out of curiosity?

Not at all matey: My roof is usually down as long as it's not raining.

Then again, I'm guessing that the mk3 has a slightly better heater than the mk2 spider.

Nope, they'd be about on par... the advantage with the mk3 of course is that the roof can be put down in 3 seconds, up in 10, and with one hand while sat in the cockpit.

The mk2 spider takes two people five minutes... #-o

MR-spider is right, it takes around 2 minutes(put up/down the roof) so it can be a pain if you're in a rush. But the amount of attention you get when cruising roof down is well worth it!

BTW my car is black(most are silver) so even with roof up it looks o.k. IMO

Its probably been said said by a great many people before but im sure if Toyota had put just a little bit more time, money & development into the Spider im sure they could have designed a soft top MR2 that would have had much more life in it than the MRS instead of just hacking the roof off of a rev4/5 as a bit of an after thought. No wonder it didnt go into full production because even to the untrained eye of your average punter thats exactly the impression it gives off

I have to admit though that the black spider roof down does look very mean!

You got any more pics of that? Looks really good in black.

Is it a stock colour? I got the impression they were all silver.
