Another idle issue (mr2 turbo)

Hi peeps.
The tick over on my mr2 is not brilliant. When revved and left it goes down to 500 Ish when bad but then manages to sort it self. Same when driven and pulling up to a junction although it did once stall on me.

I took off the throttle body and cleaned the icv which did have soot build up but still the same.

Any ideas as to where to go from here. Drives fine and boosts normal.

Any way of testing it before replacing.?

Assuming the valve is moving freely by hand, you could check the resistance between the middle pin and the top pin and the middle pin and the bottom pin of the electrical connector on the valve. Both should be between 19.3 - 23.3 ohms.

It might also be worth checking that the TPS is setup correctly, if you haven't already done so.

Did you check the butterfly valve in the carb body is closing correctly and the small airway that bypasses it when closed is clear?

The opening and closing valve seems tomove freely when done by hand although I notice it doesnt fully close.
Am not overly technical so may have to get it booked an at a mechanics am ok to follow instructions on a 'how to'.

I don't no. Will have to book it in at mechanics for that.
