N/A Fuel Pump with SC Conversion

Hi,

The N/A fuel pump is different to the SC fuel pump is it not?

I'm trying to narrow down why I have suffered with lean fueling.

Yes it is. I'm sure I've told you this before but if you run an NA pump you have to run a rising rate adjustable fuel pressure regulator and have it setup on the rolling road. Otherwise it will run lean as the fuel pressure regulator runs a lower pressure than the NA which really causes the issue.

Or you can change the pump and put the correct one in.

Is there an alternative to the SC pump? Such as a mk2 turbo or the MA70 supra pump?

Pretty sure the MK2 turbo fuel pump is fine for this. But you'd need to check it is a straight swop.

I've found one at Fensport which delivers 176l/hr so that should be more than adequate, plus it's new as well.

I think the fensport one will run at 8bar which will overfuel your motor. The stock sc pump runs at @3.8. Im in the process of replacing mine with a inline pump & run it @ 5bar as ive had some power upgrades.

You can change the pump, but you'll still need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator that will need to be setup on the rollers to get the fuel pressure right.

If you fit the adjustable fuel pressure regulator, you don't need to change the pump at all as I have proven some 15 years ago. But I'm not stopping you waste money on a pump you don't actually need.

ran my jdm 4agze swap on the stock na fuel pump for many years, even when i converted to turbo. never had an issue or lean out up to 18psi. used the stock 4agze fpr.

Mk2 na is suppose to be a direct drop in. I use Deatschwerks pumps now in my aw11's. But sized bigger than needed stock for the extra boost etc i use.
