the MX5 is a better car, it is a true modern classic, they handle significantly better than a mk2 mr2, they're a joy to work on, parts are cheap, there's a few one make race series', they're the best selling roadster in the world, ever etc etc

Nice, clean, standard fresh import/garage queen Mk1's are trading at more than

£4k, especially for rarer ones like S-special's, RS Ltd's etc

- in fact a mx5 specialist sold a mint R-Ltd recently for

£8k

(standby for irate mr2 owners to stamp their feet over that, but it's true)

don't get me wrong, I love

(and equally hate) my MR2, I loved my MX5.

but if you're totally honest the only thing the mr2 has over the MX5 is power, and general build quality, nicer plastics etc.

as is mentioned whenever this is brought up

(once a month?) prices for very nice original turbo cars will creep up gradually, as will the values of quality modified cars, the people asking

£8k for average UK cars are smoking crack though, never going to happen.
