Fitting TBar seals - Sealant?

Post by abovetherim »

When fitting the tbar weather strip (the bit that goes on the car around the door aperture) there needs to be some sealant applied at certain points.

Now my question is What type of sealant? Butyl tape like the 1/4 glass or a mastic type or rtv or trim tape?

Thanks in advance

If your fitting new genuine seals no sealant is needed only places it needs
It is already on the seals just remove backing tape.
I would also replace seal on t bar glass too
Did mine 3 yrs ago no leaks unless I pressure wash it :thumleft:

Thank you for the input but I am refitting the non leaking seals I have. I am aware of where the sealant needs to be.

You post does tell me new sealant comes with tape on so I must assume it is butyl or trim tape.
Which? Anyone know?
