Cleaning the turbo inlet

Post by CalMac »

Took a photo while I had the induction pipework off yesterday - lots of carbon gunky goodness! Hardly any play in the shaft and no smoke though, still pulling very well - just wondering what's the best way to clean it?

I was thinking just spray a load of carb cleaner into the turbo and wipe what I can out with a cloth? It's such a PITA to get at ](*,)

It's a standard CT20 AFAIK

Small Stanley blade and a Hoover to scrape off and suck out as much crud as possible, then wipe away what's left with a rag soaked in petrol/thinners/brake cleaner etc, the aim of the game being to get as much stuff as possible out, not spraying it into the compressor housing :thumleft:
