Drivers and passenger Windows not working

Hi, Wondering if anyone can help. My friends 1992 Turbo's Windows have stopped working. We have tried replacing the drivers switch panel with no effect, Checked the fuses and also made sure the window lock button is not pressed. The elec mirrors still work fine and the window motor will work when connected to a 12v battery.
What else can I check as I'm running out of ideas lol

Check the wiring between the car and door in the rubber boot it can break

Ok, I'll give that a look, thanks.
Can that stop both from working as apparently it was all working fine then both Windows stopped working at the same time

From memory I think the passenger side won't work if the drivers side doesn't
