why o why

Post by masterbateson »

why are these bloody cars so ungratefull!!!!

You sort out one problem and then you are rewarded for your efforts with another.

Just got all the brakes bled, got the abs sensors to work and cleared the ABS problem, I then go to put the wheels back on and what do I find at the passenger rear arch on the floor?

Yes a small puddle of car wee #-o I was rewarded for my loving care and attention with a nice leaking rear shocker.

Gee thanks, really you shouldn't have

Yeah, they are needing a lot of love these days. My first car (a 1972 MG Midget) was 28 years old when I bought it (in 2000) and believe me man, Mr2s are nothing on this thing when it came to maintenance!!

I don't mind and actually enjoy the maintenance/restoration side of things.
It would be just nice now and again to finish a job and actually get to drive the thing for at least a few days/weeks maybe even a month or two before you get into another problem.

Hey ho, she looks nice and shiny clean at least in the garage after I treated the old girl to a jet wash and chammy before putting her to bed.

It's not the mr2, it's just cars. They are a curse like mechanical crack.

They suck you in with the fun side and then beat you down with the hard work. Simultaneously the most fun ever whilst being the biggest pain in the ar$e.

The only reason they get you down is because when they break you can't get your fix. Just like a junkie and their drugz.

Mines needed a bit more work than usual this year so far.
Luckily I've planned ahead and bought most the parts I need to sort.

The way i see it is my car is pretty original underneath so after 23yrs its gonna need some TLC. I just see it as an excuse to upgrade or renew when needed and then you know it won't need doing again for a long time.

By the time you finished renewing or upgrading your have a practically new car.

I cant believe that a set of 20+ year old shocks are leaking, that's a disgrace I'd be down to Toyota to complain right away.

Yeah and what you then do if your like me is the following.

Renew/refurb replace everything on the car or at the very least loads of stuff till the cars spot on and then.

Get rid of it and start again #-o

I'm not sure why I do that? :?:
