[Mk2] [NA] Buzzing Noise from engine through stereo ?

Bit of a weird one maybe, when I have the stereo on I can hear a loud ish buzzing noise coming through the speakers, seems to be picking something up from the engine, this changes with the revs of the engine, with the stereo turned off, seems to be no problem, any ideas guys ?

Is it standard wiring or is there an aftermarket amp fitted?

Everything is standard, original, nothing changed

Sorry, do you mean earthing on the stereo?

Yes add additional earth to the chassis on the car. What headunit is fitted?

It's just the original Toyota headunit set up.

Did you sort this out Marky? There is normally a suppressor you can get from most factors that will get rid of this. It's to do with the earth grounding.

Using a suppressor is like putting a plaster on an open wound.

You need to go through and check / redo your grounds. Do you have the standard audio system, or the premium system? The premium system is a little different because it has amps and subs.

Fair comment... I have the same problem now as I've refitted the OE stereo. It didn't happen with the aftermarket stereo, so i'll be doing this.
