Wind noise through tweeters

Post by wenguin »

Hi folks

I've always had wind noise through tweeters and I've tried twice to apply double sided tape around the edge and refitting the mirrors with new screws, but the noise is, if anything, worse.

Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions other than replacing the rubber trim.

I've read that some people believe the wind can come through the 'gap' in the outside of the mirror, and into the inside of the mirror.

I've been thinking if I can get some sort of expanding foam into the part behind the tweeter it will block all gaps, but it would need to be removable - any suggestions for something easy to get out?

sounds silly Q
are you sure the noise isn't from the tweeter itself..

Hi John, yes I tried this same thing mentioned on there, including attempting to tape around the screw holes. No dice sadly :(

velcro down the sides works for a while - until it comes unstuck.

I know you said it needs to be removable so this might not suit, but packing it full of silicon is the best method I've seen.
