Hi guys I got my Greddy FV bov on it - I wanted a whistle but didn't get the HKS and there's nothing I can do about that now is there? Id be happy if I could just get the woosh noise louder so I can actualy hear it :') if im in the car I can hear it and it's not incredibly loud, is there anything I can do to make it louder or anything I can put on it? I literally just stuck it on a few months ago and left it as the standard setup and I don't know what to do to make it louder
Any help will be appreciated
Thank
Anthony
you will get fed up with it quite quickly, but if it has different inserts available like the HKS, you could look into that, or fit a bell mouth on it, to try and amplify it?
The SSQV has a couple of different inserts that produce the characteristic PSSHHT sound by having the air flow past fins. I swapped mine out for the recirc attachmet and clamped a short piece of silicone hose over it to quell the sound a bit and it's much better.
If you are feeling frivolous, you could also try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96URb78itcg
Nahhh man im 19!! I want the loudest noise possible!! I want mine as loud as the one in the video but the original noise or a whistle it doent have any inserts but I was thinking of minding my own cone attachment to make it whistle but just how the hell do I make it loud so you can hear it like that?
Why you'd want to chav your car up to make maximum noise i have no idea
The noise is air under pressure being released to the atmosphere. Plus the design of the BOV.
If a Rev1/2, you shouldn't be releasing ANY metered air!
If your BOV is not loud enough as it is, save your pocket money and buy a different one.
the greddy type s is the one with the whistle (this is what I use and it sounds awesome), they no longer make these and they were pretty poor anyway, they leaked etc.
Luckily a company called NGR Performance have copied them and upgraded them.
Check out www.ngrperformance.com.
Thanks sheppy I'll check it out will that just fit on to the same flange as the fv because I had a little trouble and just welded in the end so I need something with the same holes as a greddy fv and pffft pocket money have a laugh im on £42k a year 😂 I don't want to change it up and make the loudest noise possible either, just want to hear it and make it sound nice there is a difference and its personal opinion
it should do, i think they greddy flanges are more or less the same,
this is the type s flange
oh, just to add, this isn't overly loud, a nice ptssccchtt with an extended whistle. Sounds great man, I've had evey BOV on the market (just about) and this one's my fave, regardless if it's chavvy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0nJzFkiSeY
Buy from NGR website man, technically the NGR is a counterfeit greddy anyway but yes, there's probably millions of knock of ones. Pay the extra and buy the NGR one, they come with warranty ect.

Shouldn't be, you may get an import charge on it, if you can ask them to send it as a "gift" you won't get charged anything, I just had a friend in the states send me a box that would be around the same size and weight (a bit heavier actually) and the postage was $20 (£15).

Peter HATES blow off valves man, He always has as far as I know actually, I think it's anything that could be related to Max Power magazine that he doesn't like which I can see why
I thought this too
I think it depends where you mount it as well, on my old forester it was mounted near the throttle (I never put it there) but the very same valve on the mr2 mounted near the turbo it was much louder.
I used to love loud exhausts noise etc and now i cant take it anymore getting old, so got a custom very quiet exhaust now runnning 84db i use to have a blitz nur spec 120db :$ but some times you got to go through motions in life.

yes mounting it near the turbo i believe and more boost makes it louder and also mounting it so it faces the driver.

How about putting a microphone near the BOV, feeding it back into the cabin and then whacking it through your stereo!
Or
You could have it going to your headphones.
Loud as you want.........
