Recaro sr3 in mkii - sliders?

Post by Bern »

Anyone have sr3 seats in their mkii? Just wondering what sliders you used. I see in many pictures that the seats are not back far enough (or less aft travel than stock seats). Bride ro rails in particular. My stock seats are fully back, but the bride ro rails leave 5.5" of space behind the seats.

Does anyone have info on the Recaro sliders and the fore/aft travel range? Or any other slider options?

I'm aware of the oem toyota Recaro ones but they are impossible to find.

Not worried about brackets, just the slider fore/aft range of motion as I need my legroom.

Edit: if anyone has different info on the bride ro rails, please chime in. I can get them for the cheapest price vs rail&bracket combo from Recaro and wedge...really frustrating getting these sweet seats and seeing how now there is a legroom issue. I knew abou headroom but this is getting silly.

c'mon guys, 41 views no replies...I've spent hours searching and looking at pictures...

If I use the recaro generic sliders, will they put the seat back far enough? I basically need the reclining dial to be past the back of the door frame, that will work for my size...argh

At least I was able to confirm that the bride ro rails wont slide back far enough.

if its just you driving it, why not bolt them using brackets instead of runners, then you can put them wherever is best for you?

and if that's not an option, I know many rails have basically a dimple at the rear end, which is what stops it from going further back, basically stops the rear mount from sliding all the way out of the runner.
Common mod on a vx220 (used to own one hence this for an example) is to take the runners out of the car and drill the dimple out, giving about an extra 4 inches or so of legroom. Don't know if the two's rails are the similar design but worth having a look?

[-X

MOT Section 6.2.A.3

Check that the driver’s seat position can be adjusted forwards and backwards and secured in the selected positions.

Very stupid question, is this everything I need to fit a recaro? There isnt anything else that attatches to the seat? Have you had these fitted to a customer car of yours?

I could realy do with a set of tidy rails for mine as my rails are a bit mix and match at the moment.

They will be complete, ready to fit. If in doubt, call them and ask.

I haven't bought from this company.

I used the rails from the factory option fishnet recaros to fit mine

Seats go fully back and no higher than the stock seat

I now have SR5's on them

Thanks guys. I ended up buying the bride ro rails and will cut and reweld the rails farther back on the brackets. Lucky to have a neighbour who owns a millwright/machine shop.

Finding toyota Recaro rails is next to impossible, the only other option is to buy aftermarket like Peter linked (or Recaro generic rails mounted to wedge or planted brackets).
