Trouble is £2100 for a rev 1 is a lot really id want it to be spotless for that, the 50k miles would concern me too. Sounds like a cheap project but someone has given up (the 3x gauges not wired up and the fact its on a jack at the front in the pic). Might be ok and worth ringing him but if it needs any kind of work doing to it and being a rev 1 i personally wouldn't pay anymore than 1000-1300 for it.

I'm sorry but a proper enthusiast would have those problems sorted. It always puts me on the Backfoot when a car has a lost of 'simple' things to fix when if that's all it is would drastically improve the image the car gives by sorting.

Even just bang a second hand £20 CD player in. 1000x better.

Rev 3 tin top fresh off the boat with a well-fitted Bomex kit, nice hhhwheels, and some decent chassis mods - £5000 label price is nae bad. If I was looking for a Mk2 right now I'd be all over this. I'd definitely want to poke around it an awful lot first and be thorough about everything of course, but if it checks out than that is nice price. However, if it's outside of your means right now then you can still get a decent Rev 3 already in the UK for under 3 bags. Any one you buy you're probably gonna want to set aside another grand to fix/change things that need doing/you don't like. It's most important just to buy one with the basics all sound then go from there.

Haha, missed that. It's mainly the horizontal rust you've to worry about anyway

Hez wrote:http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... 93/3243226 , that doesnt look bad if you could get a few quid off, some decent mods too.
The bad points arent that bad, the rust on the bottom of the door is very common , few scratches, cam gasket leaking is common and not a immediate problem, speedo easy fix.

Well fancy that! you might just have spotted the other nice red MR2 turbo in red from essex I was talking about!!

I have to say, I really want a Tbar, but if that was within throwing distance of me I would be taking a good look round..

BTW I like tin tops too but, I just love T bars, And if i had one, she would be living in a garage and only coming out on sunny days.

I like it apart from the seats

Whats the general consensus on the milage on this car and any other tubby for that matter?
Normally I wouldnt touch a car with a barge pole with this sort of mileage even if it was a diesel. :-k

Hi there, the yellow 2 currently on ebay is mine. First things first regarding the mileage I'm going by what currently on the clocks and assuming they're original and still read in KM. The car is in a condition far better than 160k might suggest, although in reality it's less than 8000 miles a year anyway. It's in daily use, far too fun to drive to have it sitting about which I often find ends up bringing it's own faults.

Obviously make of it what you will, anyone with time to come and view is more than welcome to.

I love the car to bits, only not being as rich as I'd like to do everything I like is making me sell it. Saying that I've spent a fair amount of money on it in the time I've had it. If it doesn't sell I'll try and find some way of keeping it, fitting my extra bits and have a lot more fun with it.

:)

Aaron.
