Hi Sheppy,

Sorry to jump in on this but I would also be very appreciative of part numbers.
I assume they are the same for rev1-5 turbo heads.

Thanks,
Dan

Are you buying a full engine gasket/seal kit for the rebuild? if so the valve stem seals are included in the kit.

These are for the Rev3+ 3SGTE

no problem man, I'm not sure if they would be, the heads are different on rev1/2. rev3-5 would be the same though.

I'm not no, I already have a gasket set but no valve stem seals. Don't think it was a full gasket set, just turbo/manifold etc....

If you still need a head gasket it might be more cost effective to buy a complete valve grid kit, this includes everything for a cylinder head rebuild.

Cheers for that Nic, I do need a head gasket. Will try a few other places too, Hurley Engineering seem to do Toyota parts at amazing prices, unfortunately no valve stem seals though :(

Personally I've only ever used genuine OEM Toyota gaskets/seals for my engine rebuilds as you know the quality.

Try getting a quote from Steve Manley ([email protected]), I always use him as he gives me the best prices, tell him Nic with the MR2 recommended him.

Na, Hurley only use good parts, according to reviews etc these can handle higher temps than OEM and take more "abuse". :thumleft:

Cheers Nic, that's great.

So it looks like I will buying a full engine gasket set for rev2 turbo (for valve stem seals and manifolds etc.) and then having to purchase the upgraded rev3 steel head gasket separately.

Which leaves me with a rev2 headgakset not being used - oh well from researching it seems the rev3 gasket is much better than the rev2?

Cheers again gents,
Dan

How are they are an upgrades over OEM? They are a cheaper aftermarket alternative. If I was going to the expense of building an engine I would only use OEM Toyota. Aftermarket is really not always better.

As above :thumleft:

Just because something's OEM doesn't mean it's better than a cheaper alternative.

Exactly the way we do it.

Rev1/2 is fibre. Rev3/5 is MLS.
