problem with running under load

Post by alan_uk »

hi guys

my uk rev5 n/a when cold is spluttering and running generally rubbish

under load it feels almost like its misfiring as its gets warmer it eases but by no means stops but is a huge improvement over when cold

any ideas it started the morning i went to get my exhaust fitted but was only slight when cold then dissapeared when warm, but now is horrible and certianly get a lot worse

any ideas suggestions would be greatly appreciated

thanks

start with the coil, it's the most likely culprit. Also check all the HT leads including the king lead for and splits etc. also make sure there's no water in the dizzy cap.

Cheers mate will do

Would this also explain why it felt down on power ?

It could do, need to keep on top of the inition components on them, i'd say low on power would be more related to the plugs but could be something else :)

Problems don't fix themselves mate. Nothing wrong with a good ignition service if you've no history of it being done.

Probably moisture in the ignition system somewhere when it was cold. A good squirt of WD40 around all the ignition components should help.

Aww i know mate im on it

Seems once it dried and sun was out eased off leading me to believe its moisture in coil pack or dizzy but the lot is getting changed

Just cant decide on what leads to go for im leaning towards trd again as my last rev5 had them and they were good :thumleft:
