Loose Outside Door Handle

Post by tmwsccsh »

Hi All,

Time to start looking at some issues on my project car.

So, firstly, when you open the drivers door from the outside, as you lift up the handle, the top of the handle section comes away from the door - hope that makes sense - leaving a gap of about 3-4 mm.

What's the easiest way to check how the handle should be attached to the door and get it secured again? I am assuming it will be from the other side and the door card will need to come off?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Door card off, plastic carefully off at the top.
Then there's one nut towards the front of the car, that you'll need to get a 10mm spanner on, it's behind the window mechanism but not too hard to get at. The other one is behind the little rubber bung at the back of the door. That one you need a fairly long screwdriver with a 10mm socket on the end.
