Make sure you give the sills a good look over for rust, as expect to pay around £1000 for both sides to be replaced and painted.

Rear arches don't generally rust, so is a good sign of badly repaired accident damage.

Full respray, budget around £2500-£3000 for a well reputed, professional job.

Bodykit wise, look for parts that have been fitted to a car or genuine kit. Saves ballache fitment issues in the long run.

:thumleft:

Need to check down the inner sills for the sponges present (these need removing) and have a look for rust on the inner sills.

These can be accessed by removing the rear quarter speaker panel trims.

My £800 respray. Although another £400 to fit the kit and cut/weld the arches etc, would have been £800 in total for the respray on it's own.

If you've not done it before it's not quite as straight forward as pulling the panels off. There are two press fittings in the edges of the storage/sub enclosures behind the seats that need to be undone. You can get at the ones on the passenger side by opening the sub enclosure lid but the ones on the drivers side can only be accessed by removing the storage box itself first.
Also when I did mine I could only reach right down into the inner sills by removing the seatbelt brackets & I have pretty thin arms and hands.
You only need a medium phillips head screwdriver for the storage box but you'll need a socket set for the seatbelts.

the argument about respray costs has been done in depth on here, I found a local guy who was cheap and good, £800 is just what he takes for a respray, with other painters up this way being similarly priced. He did have my car for a stupidly long time but I reckon if it was just a simple respray it'd be a matter of weeks not months, there was a lot of work went into my arches and bodykit as the kit was rough as hell from the mould despite fitting well.

i can forward on his number if anyone wants it but he is in the north east of Scotland :(
