[Mk2] [Turbo] car wont idle cuts out unless reved up

my cars started with a nasty fault, it started after it cut out and the dash lit up like a xmas tree, I can get it to start but with lots of revs, aa come out not got a clue,

I checked for error codes and it come up with error 31

which I believe is map sensor, where do I go now what else do I need check? where can I get one from cant find a second hand one anywhere

See if you have someone local you can borrow the sensor off to check. Where about are you?
