Sadly it got written off when a coal lorry shed its load in front of the car.

Fast forward to 2013, and I still have a Toyota as my daily, albeit a Corolla, and this RX8 as my show car

Its extensively modified, and has set me back over 20k to build.

When I met Emma, I used to pass a repair shop/restorers in a local village, who used to specialise in MR2s.

I used to comment to Emma how much I admired it, and often joked on important dates like Birthdays etc that the car was still there at the shop.

Emma knew the score with my old MR2, and knew I still held a flame for them.

Then one day she rang me and told me I needed insurance for a registration.

She had saved her money up

The car is pretty much fully restored, and only needs some trims like a door weather seal, and maybe one or two contact points to be bang tidy.

I hope to get it sitting just right over winter, so Emma can drive it to shows with me next summer

bringing it home:

after a jetwash

Here it was in the garage that painted it, you can see a little pearl in it

hope it doesnt ruin your vision!
