[Mk2] [NA] 15" TSW alloys wheels not fitting!

Hi All,

I bought a set of TSW alloys of gumtree which I was told fitted a MR2 REV3. I havent got a clue when it comes to alloys but when I tried to fit the wheel the 5 threads were not long enough for the oem bolts hold onto.

Any suggestions will be a great help.

Point 1... you should not be fitting aftermarket wheels with OEM nuts!

Here you can see the flat seat on the Toyota nut on the right compared to the conical "tuner" nut on the left:



However that may well not be the cause of your problem. When I had TSW wheels fitted, I also found I didn't have much thread to secure the nuts, although they did torque up and hold the wheels on, just with about 2 turns rather than the recommended 4+.

Ahhh Right cool!

I will see if I can get a set of conical nuts and see if that makes a difference.
