Post by edt »

I've got a P Reg UK NA car. How do I tell which Revision it is?

I believe the Rev 4 onwards got the standard Toyota clear indicators but maybe wrong?

The only thing I know of is that some Rev 4's were 2 tone although I don't know how many colours were in the range etc

If it's 1997 it's a Rev4

My old car was a P reg NA and it was a rev3, had amber and clear front indicators, no airbag wheel, no egr etc.

Seatbelts said 1996 iirc though.

That's a good point. If it's a Rev 4 it'll have an EGR valve :)

If it's a UK rev4, yes.
If it's a JDM rev4, no.

The only way to 100% confirm it is to check your chassis number..... Anything physically on your car now could have been changed after it left the factory. :thumleft:

I thought the third brake light was an import feature?

I believe it was but if it's the same as the Gen 6 Celica idea then when they facelifted then in approx 96 they added the 3rd brakelight so I'm guessing iit's probably the same as the Mr2 only Rev 3 became Rev 4 which would be when they added the EGR valve etc?

UK cars had third brake lights too.
But IFAIK, the imports got them earlier (I think UK cars didn't get them until rev4).

my old 1 was a uk 96 P registration rev3 with 3 brake lights. it may have been added by a previous owner for all I know, but you'd think he'd have put clear indicators on while he was busy
