Water Elbow Painting

Post by TRINDA1664 »

Hello

Please can I have some advise on painting the cast ali water elbow.

I was going to get it powdercoated but my local podercoaters are on shutdown and im looking to get it back on the car tonight.

So i am looking to use aerosols. I am going to lightly shot blast the surfaces that are being painted.

Do i need to use primer? if so grey or acid etch?
Also will i need to use a high temp paint? or will normal aerosol paint be ok?

Thanks

Dan

As said above make sure you have thoroughly cleaned the services and give them a good rub down with sand paper before prep is by far the most important thing with spraying anything.

you dont need VHT paint for the water elbow. I used ordinary aerosol paint on mine and no problems after a year or so.
