I've bought this mk2 today and I'm not sure if its a rev1 or 2?
Can any one please identify from the pic provided?

Re: Help identifying this revision NA mk2
What year is the car?
Re: Help identifying this revision NA mk2
Could be a rev 1 or rev 2. That's a pic of a 3SFE engine.
Re: Help identifying this revision NA mk2
The paint on the inside of the engine bay looks like crimson red 3J6, therefore a rev 1
More pics would be good though

Re: Help identifying this revision NA mk2
Well I went by this as its a uk K reg
A K reg vehicle will
have been registered between August 1992 and the end of July 1993
But there does not seem to be any power steering? That's a rev 2 manufacturing time is it not?
Err hadn't even noticed the engine code! What's the difference between a 3sge and 3sfe???
Have no experience with na's
The paint is faded all over however the inside door sills seem to pretty much match my rev 2 turbo which is a 3e5 paint code

That's a Rev2 car.
FE cars didn't have PAS.
FE were basic spec NAs with 119BHP rather than 158, which Rev 1 & 2 GTs had.

GT's were turbos
to original poster, 3SGE engines were fitted to the UK GTi, and the JDM G & G-LTD.
3SFE was 119 bhp, 0-60 in 9.3. Didn't have a rear spoiler or front fogs

Re: Help identifying this revision NA mk2
Right thanks
I only bought it for £300 off a pensioner as it had failed the mot last week on
A coroded rear offside ball joint and sill rust which as 2 holes on the back end about and inch wide and a blow in the exhaust.
Any opinions on weather I should have things fixed and sell it or break it and sell all the parts of it? I'm guessing the engine is pretty much worthless!
Yea no foggies or a spoiler. Thanks folks

Re: Help identifying this revision NA mk2
Well its got flat 15" optional style rev 2 alloys and the later brake setup so must be rev 2.
Is the 3sfe worth selling or are the parts worth breaking or stripping to sell like cams or crank and pistons?
I bought it in the hope to break and sell as the interior is immaculate and all the panels are straight and true. Its just got the bad red paint fade so now looks like ite just got a coat of red primer on.
