It was the first time this car has been out competitively with the 3SGTE fitted so it was a case of taking it sensibly and to start to learn the car and to see if it held up reliability wise under sprint conditions.

But Neil had a further worry, he was due to fly out to China very early on Monday morning so he really didn't need any hassle getting to and from the event in an unproven car.

We set off on Saturday afternoon and everything was fine at first.

We stopped off at a Travelodge about 30 miles short of Woodbridge and had a decent nights kip.

Got to Woodbridge and the car performed faultlessly all day

It started raining after Neils 7th run, so we decided to make an early get away and forsake the 8th run so that we coiuld get home at a reasonable time so Neil could pack for China and we could get home in time to watch Match of the Day.

About two hours from home and BANG

We have no indicators and we were on the A14 without a hard shoulder, it was really bloody scary

After god knows how many hours and after multiple phone calls we finally had someone arrive that could pick the whole rig up for us.

We wanted to obviously go North but they took us South to Northampton where we were to get a hire car from Enterprise to get us home.

Eventually decided to take the trackcar off the trailer and take that home.

Oh the Irony!
