My track project.. updated... a bit more track ready..

Post by pistol pete »

well picked a really nice g limited Mr2 last night
and i bought it for what i sold my brembo rear brakes from the impreza (came with the car and did not want to fit)
so in theory the car was free :)...
went for a NA as with track i did not want problems of forced induction for cheap thrills yeah i know its a tbar etc.. but it will not stop it being fun at the end of the day and thats what i am after..

its is gonna be fully stripped, brakes etc etc.. i wanna make it into a little track day weapon..
not going to be timing my self etc just for fun and improving myself .. never done a trackday. not wanna take my scoob on track

here some pics as it is (seats need to go if anyone is interested, i need some buckets

I have managed to change the car completly already..

the steering wheel was no where near straight (approx 45deg) really annoying so done that

the gear know was miles to big and high so swapped for my spare impreza one (the mr2 threads are the same) much nicer

the engine was strong but did not feel quite right.. and found one of the leads was just resting onthe plug... such a difference when fitted correctly

also engine lid was rattling.. so thats sorted now too :)..

Looks like a good starting point!

I did a very similar thing (£400 rev1) which is now sporting a japspeed exhaust, TRD intake, Tein coilovers & Rev3 wheels and is a totally different car.

All my parts were ebay bargains and the car still owes me under a grand ;)

well this weekend me and Ben Edwards went to work on the mr2...
here is the pics..
also changed the wheels as it had arrow speed tires and 195's alround.. which made for some interesting handleing characteristics...
now has 225's on the rear and 195's on the front on the rev 3 15's

A little assistance from Lild
